The HSS twist drill is used for drilling metal with maximum precision. The split centering tip of 135 exposed degrees combines active cutting and perfect centering without displacement, which provides maximum precision. The split point also eliminates the need for pre-scoring or pilot drilling until 10 mm. This precision ground drill bit made of HSS (high speed steel) allows drilling at speeds up to 40 % greater and with a feed pressure up to a 50 % smaller than a conventional HSS ground drill bit with chamfered edges. The bit is designed for drilling holes in steel and steel alloys, molten iron, sintered iron, malleable cast steel, non-ferrous metals and hard plastics. The HSS twist drill is manufactured according to DIN 338. It is type N (groove angle) with a tip of 135 degrees and a diameter tolerance h8.
